This month’s edition of Oliver’s Drop is all about leaning into the spontaneity, connection, and little luxuries that make summer feel like magic.
Summer Sips & Backyard Bites
This month’s cocktail tutorial features a Jalapeño Mint Margarita, our ode to summer in a glass. It’s light and refreshing, where sweet meets spicy for those who like a little kick. Here’s how to make four servings:
Ingredients:
1 cup (8 oz.) jalapeño-infused blanco tequila*
1/2 cup fresh lime juice (from 4 limes)
1/4 cup agave syrup
1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau)
8 fresh mint sprigs, plus more for garnish
1 thinly sliced jalapeño chile and lime wedges for garnish
Add tequila, lime juice, agave, orange liqueur, and mint to a pitcher. Using a muddler or a wooden spoon, crush mint slightly for about 15 seconds. Rim four glasses with sugar or Tajín, add ice to glasses, and strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer into glasses. Garnish with lime wedges, jalapeño slices, and mint.
*To make jalapeño-infused tequila: Slice 4 jalapeños and steep in 30 oz. blanco tequila at room temperature for 16–24 hours. Strain before using. Adjust infusion time to taste depending on desired spice level.
